Make a Plan, work the plan…

Make a plan, work the plan….so many of us head into life head long with out a road map, but how many of us would head to a physical destination without directions, or at the very least Siri!

The same advice applies as it relates to our medical future as our parents age, and need attention in their own homes. There are many great resources nationwide that can supplement your care of your parents in their own homes, so before their condition deteriorates into a crisis stage, educate yourself on your options. If your parents are clinically in pretty good shape, in home care giving companies provide a great foundation for the ADL’s activities of daily living. Care givers can shop, cook, do light housekeeping, drive your folks to and from their appointments and in general serve as your eyes and ears in your folks home. This will give you peace of mind. If they require clinical attention, you need to create a plan of care with their primary care providers which many include skilled nursing care. The biggest thing to keep in mind…
